Digital flat printing is the most budget-friendly of the printing methods, digital printing involves printing ink directly onto the surface of the paper such that there is no textured effect or impression created. Digital printing is a flat printing where the ink is absorbed onto the surface of the paper.
For blind impression printing (some stationers call it “emboss” or “deboss”) we use the same technique as letterpress but with no ink. This method is great for adding texture with patterns or monograms. We recommend blind impression for beautiful details but not invitation wording.
Letterpress is truly a fine art printing technique. First, the digital file is turned into a polymer plate with raised lettering. The plate is then laid onto the letterpress and the paper makes contact with the plate leaving a gorgeous and truly luxurious impression. The letters and patterns are impressed into the paper. All letterpress inks are hand-mixed and setup of a press for printing is a very meticulous task but incredibly worthwhile given the gorgeous results.
Foil printing another luxurious print method. Similar to letterpress, a digital file is turned into a copper or brass plate with raised lettering. The plate is laid onto the press and heat and foil are applied to the impression. This creates a stunning impression with an overlay of gorgeous shining foil. Foil is the most expensive printing technique that we offer as it involves the most skilled pressmen and women and is even more meticulous than letterpress as it involves foil and heat.
Select the base white paper that you would like for your invitation. Everything is available in 1-ply and 2-ply with the exception of vellum and seed paper.
All of our matte colored papers are available for paper, envelopes, and liners.
Our ink color selections are meant to match these paper colors.
